Maria del Mar Bonet will be the third woman invested Honoris Causa by Lleida University, after the law doctor woman Eliane Vogel-Posky from Belgium and the catalan pianist player Alicia de Larrocha. Since Maria del Mar Bonet started singing at 1967 with Els Setze Jutges, she has become in a catalan music reference, always in a permanent evolution. She has popularized majorcan work songs and majorcan poetry , has experimented with mediterranean music and musicians as Alan Stivell, Milton Nascimento, Zülfü Livaneli, George Moustaki, Jackson Browne, Miguel Poveda, Ovidi Montllor and Lluís Llach. During her 40 years of professional career has received international and national awards, as: Charles Cross 1984 ( Paris), Creu Sant Jordi 1984, National Music Awards (SGAE) in 1992, and Tenco Award (San Remo) 2003. Nowdays , Maria del Mar Bonet is recording her new album with Palma de Mallorca Symphonic Orchestra .
